For the past fifteen years, Children’s Speech & Reading Center has assisted thousands of Northern Colorado youth and their families through the diagnosis and treatment of listening, speaking, reading and writing disorders. Five Speech-Language Pathologists certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association staff the Center. Each speech-language pathologist holds a master's degree and graduate training/certification in various techniques to treat childhood communication and learning disorders, including apraxia, autism, feeding and swallowing, reading disabilities, augmentative communication, and more.
Elise Tobler, MA, CCC-SLP has served as Director since February 2007. She graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1995, and has 15 years of experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, with special interest in early childhood development, literacy, and program development. She is a certified facilitator for the It Takes Two To Talk® and More Than Words® Hanen Programs and is trained in the Lindamood Phoneme Sequences program. Current duties include preparation of funding proposals, program development, annual fundraiser, community education, coordinating the Scottish Rite programs, therapy services and managing staffing, budget and operations of the Center.
Monica Weber, MA, CCC-SLP comes to us with a background in autism spectrum disorders, literacy, Down's syndrome, LLD, and cochlear implants. She has extensive experience in both public school and private settings and has worked on multi-disciplinary teams. She has extensive training in Sequential Oral Sensory Feeding Therapy. Ms. Weber received her Master's degree from the George Washington University in 2000. She has been with CSRC since November 2007.
LeAnn Sipple, MS, CCC-SLP comes to us with a strong background in pediatric feeding disorders, motor speech disorders, articulation and phonological disorders and language processing disorders. Her experience with AAC evaluations and training is valuable in developing programs to support the high needs of some of the children we serve. She has advance training in PROMPT and Sequential Oral Sensory Feeding Therapy. Ms. Sipple received her Master's degree from the University of Oregon in 1998. She has been with CSRC since September 2008.
Jessica Davis, MA, CCC-SLP provides screens, assessment and therapy for a wide variety of speech and language disorders. She also conducts early literacy groups at several preschools in our area. She is a certified facilitator for the It Takes Two To Talk® Hanen program. Ms. Davis graduated with a Master's degree from Indiana University in May of 2008. She has been with CSRC since September 2008.
Jessy Smith, BA, provides administrative support and coordinates client scheduling. She assists with fund raising efforts, program development, client intake, public relations, grant preparation, documentation, record keeping, and technology support. Ms. Smith has been with CSRC since March 2007.
Suzette Hettinger is the Center's bookkeeper. She brings an accounting background to the Center, with 18 years of previous accounting experience with a major oil company. She provides the Director with the necessary information to ensure viability of the Center. She provides budget analysis, documentation, payroll, and billing services. She assists the Director in grant preparation, financial record keeping, and program cost analysis. Ms. Hettinger has been with CSRC since May 2008.
