Speech and Language Care Plans
Our care plans are created with measurable goals individualized to the child’s specific needs. During session, speech and language skills are taught through modeling and cueing during functional, fun, and motivating play activities. Modeling and cueing is then faded to encourage more spontaneous use of the specific skills targeted during that activity. Suggestions of games and activities are provided to the family to encourage carryover into more spontaneous conversation and less structured activities.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices
Therapy also may incorporate Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. These high tech tools such as touch screens provide a means of communication for children with complex communication needs who cannot use speech as a primary mode of communication.
